1. We are looking for those who desire to be overcomers—willing to pay the price, deny themselves, and follow the Lord. To do this, we need the washing of water by the word, in order to be sanctified. The way to follow the Lord is to inculcate the word in our hearts, filling ourselves with Christ to the fullness of God (Eph. 1:22-23; 3:17-19; 4:9; 5:18-19, 26).
2. The moon represents the church, which reflects the sun’s light to rule the night, until the sun shines again. The sun has set— Jesus’ visible presence is gone — but it will rise again. Now it is night, and the moon rules, reflecting the sun’s light. The church sets the pace of God’s government and influences the course of the world (Gen. 1:16; Ps. 104:19a; Col. 2:16-17).
3. Today we see energized teenagers all over the earth, which shows us that the Sun is about to rise. Therefore, let us not sleep as some do. We are not of the night, but of the day. If we wait for Him, that Day will not surprise us, for we live to do God’s will (Ps 110:3; Luke 1: 78-79; Mal 4:2; John 8:12; Rom 13:11-12).
4. We live in the freedom of grace to fully enjoy the promised Spirit, until we inherit the blessing as children and heirs of God. Therefore, let us follow the Spirit and continue practicing the hearing of faith so that the Spirit may have freedom to work miracles to carry out God’s work until the Lord returns, until we receive the Lord’s inheritance and reign with Christ for a thousand years. (Gal. 5:1; Rom. 8:14-17) (Daily Food, book 3, week 3, Sunday, p. 55).
