1. Thank God we are living according to the model of the early church, established by God. We have seen the formation of an army, not of people full of doctrines, but of people who are being constituted by the word in a living and organic way, which is being instilled in us, and living under the government of God (Acts 2:42).
2. The seven Spirit-filled men chosen in Acts 6 were not set apart by the Spirit to stand on a pulpit and deliver messages but were called to serve tables. Are you willing to serve your brother and sister? The Lord has made us His servants and servants of one another, but out of love, not obligation (Acts 6:2-3, 5; Gal. 5:13).
3. Fish live in the sea without being salted by its waters. We, because we have God’s life, can live in this world without being contaminated, as the Lord Jesus prayed. He did not ask the Father to take us out of the world, precisely because we are here to do God’s will. However, He prayed to deliver us from evil (John 17:14-18).
4. “Jesus said in Matthew 18, ‘Unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven’ (v. 3). The kingdom of heaven is taken by those who have simplicity, humbleness, and follow the direction of the Spirit” (Matt. 18:3) (Daily Food, book 3, week 4, Tuesday, p. 59).
