DAILY IMMERSION IN THE PROPHETIC WORD Wednesday | Msg. 06 – The Restoration of the Earth: The Fifth Day and the Sixth Day

1. In a river’s current, everything that is lifeless—such as loose leaves, twigs, and dead fish—is swept away. Only living fish can swim against the current. The world we live in has a course, but we do not follow it; we are not lifeless beings. God gave us life together with Christ (Eph 2:1-5).

2. Jesus was sleeping in a boat when a storm arose, so He rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. In fact, Jesus rebuked the spiritual forces of evil. The boat represents the church; it is on the sea, which represents the world, but the world cannot enter the church. Jesus is in the boat! (Matthew 8:23-27; Ephesians 6:12).

3. Satan wants to destroy the church, so he uses things and people to try to destroy it, as in the episode where winds and waves were used to try to sink the boat Jesus was in. We need to understand that our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of evil. And we must not be afraid, for Jesus has authority (Matthew 8:23-27; Ephesians 6:12).

4. “On the one hand, we have been freed from sin; but on the other hand, we have also been freed from the law with its sin-enhancing ordinances, but the law does not enable us to overcome sin. “…Today, thanks be to God, through the truth of the gospel, we are free; we can live by faith in Christ” (Rom. 6:22; 7:6) (Daily Food, book 3, week 4, Wednesday, pp. 62, 63).
