1. God created the birds of the air to show that He is like the eagle. He is not influenced by earthly conditions, just as an eagle is not restricted by gravity, but overcomes it. In the same way, God triumphs over the earth and is able to take you and me to the heavenly realms. (Gen. 1:20b; Exod. 19:4; Eph. 2:6).
2. In the Bible, we see the figure of the “four living creatures, which represent the people who on Earth, together with Christ, have carried out what heaven wants to accomplish. We, who believe in the Lord Jesus, when we follow the rhythm of heaven and the direction of the Spirit, are these four living creatures, carrying out the will of God (Ezekiel 1:5, 10, 22, 26).
3. When you and I follow the rhythm of heaven, we have the same characteristics as the four living creatures: the face of a man, for Christ will head up all things not only as God, but as a man; the face of a lion, which does not lose heart, is focused as a king; the face of an ox, with the appearance of a servant; and the face of an eagle, which is not restricted to the Earth (Ezekiel 1:10, 26).
4. “We are purified by God through the washing of water by the word. “…Therefore, immersion in the word has priceless value, because it has the power to engrave in our hearts what God says. If we stay in contact with the word every day, it washes us, it sanctifies us” (Eph 5:26-27; Deut 6:6-7) (Daily Food, book 3, week 4, Friday, p. 67).
