DAILY IMMERSION IN THE PROPHETIC WORD Monday | Msg. 07 – On the Seventh Day God Rested From All His Work Which He Had Done

1. God mentions that the sun and moon were created to govern the day and night. He did not create the Earth to be in chaos, nor to be left to its own devices. God created all things to exercise His government on Earth. Let us seek to be governed by the Lord, to serve Him and do His will (Gen. 1:16-18; Isa. 45:18; Matt. 6:10).

2. Stephen perfectly diagnosed the situation of the people of Israel, the religious leaders, and the opposition they were creating against God Himself, to the point of killing Jesus, persecuting the church, and plotting his death. But how was he prepared? Stephen did not attend theological college, but lived the normal church life, in which they persevered in the apostles’ teaching (Acts 7:51-52; 2:42).

3. God left the model of the early church for us to follow. They persevered in the apostles’ teaching. The apostles’ words came from the mouth of God and gave direction to the church. God’s Word is not a mere suggestion, but a command. God governs the church and desires to govern you and me through His Word (Acts 2:42; 1 Thess. 2:13).

4. “We must have a heart without self-interest, like that of Abraham, who, in the midst of an unbelieving and idolatrous generation, left everything in order to do the will of God. He stood out in his time as the only one who sought the true God and wanted to serve Him” (Gen. 12:4; Isa. 51:2) (Daily Food, book 3, week 4, Monday, p. 56).
