1. When it comes to offering to God, many of us act by only making commitments that keep us in a comfortable situation. We only offer what we are sure we won’t miss. We never put the Lord to the test in this aspect, so that He may bless us. We are very timid. We need to give God the opportunity to do more through us (Malachi 3:10-11).
2. For man to live happily, God provided food and trees pleasant to the sight in the Garden of Eden; only after that did He present the tree of life to him. But, because of disobedience, man lost access to the garden and began to have a tiring and stressful life. Today, in the church, through the Word, we once again have access to the joy of the Garden of Eden (Genesis 2:9; Acts 2:42-46).
3. In the early church, God restored the joy that existed in the Garden of Eden. When we have this joy, all things on Earth lose its value. This is the result of being governed by the Word of God. We are freed from attachment to material possessions, we begin to delight in offering to the Lord, and we find joy in sharing meals with those we love (Acts 2:42-46).
4. “Nothing is done without the desire in the heart of God. The Son, who is the Word of God, knows the Father’s heart and gives the voice and command for the work to be done, and the Spirit of God carries out the work” (Eph. 1:5, 9; John 1:1-3; Genesis 1:2-3). (Daily Food, book 4, week 2, Monday, p. 23).
