1. What was the human spirit created for? To connect with God. That’s why God breathed His Spirit into man. Human beings are the only creatures capable of connecting with God. And God seeks worshipers who will worship Him in spirit and in truth. Today, we too are seeking such worshipers to bring them to the Father (Gen. 2:7; John 4:24).
2. The human spirit has a function—fellowship—which enables us to connect with God. This is accomplished through the word of life. God communicates with us through Christ, who is the word. We must receive the word through the spirit, not directly through the mind, and then we participate in what God has for us (1 John 1:1-3; John 1:1).
3. We need to grasp the message God wants to speak to us, the desire of the Father’s heart. To do this, our human spirit possesses a function called intuition. When we receive God’s word through fellowship, our intuition begins to function and to absorb God’s message for us (1 Corinthians 2:11).
4. “…The works of the flesh are passions and desires that attract us to a life separated from God… We, however, want to be overcomers, we want the reward of the millennium, that is, we want to reign with Christ for a thousand years. To do this, let us live in the spirit, always setting our minds on the spirit”. (Gal 5:19-21; Rev 20:6; Rom 8:5-6) (Daily Food, book 4, week 2, Friday, pp. 31-32).
