1. The tree of life is not a vertical tree, but one that spreads horizontally (on both sides of the riverbank is the tree of life). God created an accessible tree, one that man can reach—not a tall coconut tree, but a vine. God is accessible. Once the problem of sin is dealt with, God’s life becomes available to man (Revelation 22:1-2; John 15:1).
2. Today, God has many dwelling places. Everyone who has a simple heart and loves God’s word is a dwelling place. God is in the midst of His city, which can never be shaken. When God is among us, this city, which is the church, will never be shaken. God will help it from the dawn; from the early morning He will help us (Isaiah 66:1-2; John 14:2; Psalm 46:4-5).
3. God gave you life and regenerated you; you were born with God’s life and are His legitimate son. Then, Christ gave you a garment “embroidered with gold,” justified you, and brought you into the “palace.” We are being prepared for the wedding of the Lamb. God wants to marry the church, which is His bride. You and I are part of His bride (Psalm 45:13; Revelation 19:7-8).
4. “Don’t let the word pass by as a mere message or as biblical knowledge. Behind the letters, or between the lines, perceive what the Father is whispering. Remember: what is your role? It is, just like the son, to fulfill the Father’s will” (John 5:30; Isaiah 53:10) (Daily Food, book 4, week 4, Tuesday, p. 57).
