1. When called by the Lord, Abraham obeyed and set out by faith, not knowing where he was going (Heb 11:8). Today we must act in the same way: if the Lord speaks, we set out! We need to have absolute faith in the Lord’s word.
2. The Lord led Abraham to a pagan land; yet he was not shaken, but believed God’s promise and, right there, built an altar to the True God. “The Lord appeared to Abraham and said, ‘To your descendants I will give this land.’” Abraham built an altar there to the LORD, who had appeared to him. (Genesis 12:7).
3. Our hearts must be like Abraham’s: detached from Earthly things. Everything the Lord gives us must be used to serve Him. This is the spirit of Kingdom Investors: to direct all resources and efforts toward advancing the work and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, so that it may be established sooner. Let us also use our possessions for this purpose! May our hearts be like Abraham’s! (Gal. 3:7; Matt. 6:19-21).
4. “If we are alive, we must remain vigilant as children of light and hasten the Lord’s return as children of the day. Let us take advantage of every moment to be vigilant, always inculcating the word and immersing ourselves in it, sleeping and waking up with God, because we are focused on doing His will and bringing Him back” (Eph. 5:8-16; 1 Thess. 5:4-10; 2 Pet. 3:12) (Daily Food, book 1, week 4, Saturday, p. 70).
