DAILY IMMERSION IN THE PROPHETIC WORD Friday | Msg. 25 – God’s covenant with Abraham Concerning the Seed and the Land

1. All the peoples of the Earth are blessed through Christ. Because of the promise made to Abraham and his descendant, who is Christ, we who belong to Christ are also heirs of the promise along with Abraham (Genesis 15:5-6; Galatians 3:16, 14; Ephesians 3:6).

2. Christ died for us so that we might serve Him in a living way. Abraham’s offering contained five items, and in the Bible, five represents responsibility—it is formed by the numbers one (the one God) and four (man). United to God, man can assume the responsibility of handing over the dominion on Earth to Him (Genesis 15:9; Ephesians 1:22-23).

3. Abraham presented offerings to God—peace offerings, sin offerings, and consecration offerings. These symbolize what Christ accomplished for us in his death and resurrection. He was sacrificed for the forgiveness of our sins, so that we might serve the living God in a living way (Genesis 15:9-10; John 2:19; 11:25; Hebrews 9:14).

4. “Today Christ waits, seated at the right hand of the Father, until He makes His enemies a footstool for His feet, with the cooperation of the church […] In view of such a great responsibility, we must cling more firmly to the word we have heard. It is in this way that we will bring the rule of Christ to Earth” (Hebrews 1:13; 2:1; Ephesians 1:22) (Daily Food, book 2, week 3, Friday, p. 50).
