1. Today many do not fully trust in the word of the Lord, nor are they faithful to Him. Instead, they resort to human logic and skill to try to “help” God. Because of this, the Spirit does not find freedom to accomplish His work. For this reason, in this generation, God seeks those who understand and obey Him. Do you want to be among those who understand and obey God today? (1 Samuel 15:9).
2. We are the workers of the last hour. We should not just do what we think is best because we will end up hampering the Lord’s work. In doing so, we fail to follow Him, to obey His word, and to carry out what God has commanded. Following the Lord is not about following logic or trusting in human skill, talent, or judgment. Following the word is simply following the word—and that is that (1 Samuel 15:10 11).
3. If we do not fully heed the word of the Lord, if we do not obey all that He says, we continue to act according to what we consider best. However, even partial obedience is not, for God, true obedience. Therefore, let us be diligent in hearing and carrying out the words of the Lord exactly as He has commanded by obeying His will completely and not trusting in our own judgment (1 Sam 15:22-23; Mt 16:24).
4. “Once connected with God, our soul needs nourishment, guidance, and salvation. How do we obtain this? By receiving God’s message through hearing His word. […] Why do we need to go through trials, even though we have already been saved by calling on the name of the Lord? Because our soul is not yet completely saved. God wants to purify our faith, which, in turn, is purified through the salvation of the soul, that is, through the process of sanctification (1 Peter 1:6-9) (Daily Food, book 4, week 3, Sunday, p. 54).”
