1. God has a will that will be fulfilled, whether we are for it or against it. The Lord’s will is to have Christ as Head of all things. If we oppose this or do not value God’s will, we become like Esau. Let us therefore learn to value what God values (Ephesians 1:9-10; Malachi 1:2-3).
2. God does everything in accordance with His will. Knowing this, we can conclude that if our purpose coincides with His, we will enjoy blessings throughout our lives; otherwise, we will not prosper. We have many desires and plans in our hearts, but we need to align them with the divine design; thus, we will prosper (Ephesians 1:11; Proverbs 19:21).
3. Even before he was born, Jacob struggled with cunning for what he wanted. We are all like this—we always find a way to get what we desire. However, when we encounter the Almighty God, we realize that, if it were not for His mercy, we would have nothing. The solution for us is the transformation produced by encountering the Lord (Genesis 25:22-23, 26; 32:24, 28).
4. “The Bible presents the outline of God’s government, that is, it reveals that God wants to establish His government through man, but Satan has always fought against this divine intention in all ages, inducing man, through sin, to do violence and wickedness” (Mt 6:10; Eph 1:9-10, 22; Ps 2:1-3) (Daily Food, book 6, week 1, Thursday, p. 14).
