1. When we believe in Jesus, Christ comes to dwell in our hearts. He is not merely a guest, but dwells as the owner of the house. Christ needs to feel at home in your heart, to be the owner of your mind, will, and emotions. Christ becomes the owner of our hearts when we are filled with Him (Ephesians 3:17).
2. God does not want to produce something merely individual, but a collective edification: the church, the Body of Christ. When He fills us, individually a root of love is born, and we begin to build ourselves up with our brothers and sisters. That is why we need to leave isolation. Together we perceive our differences and, through love, we gradually unite (Ephisians 3:18-19; 4:10; 5:18).
3. Through the washing of the water of the Word, we are sanctified and cleansed of that which resists the Headship of Christ. The water that purifies us is not a doctrine, but is living and flows constantly. When all things are subject to Christ, He will become all in all. Christ will then be subject to God, so that in the end God may be all in all (Ephesians 5:25-26; Collossians 3:10-11; 1 Corinthians 15:2428).
4. “The church is the reality of the kingdom of heaven on Earth! People see that we are the blessed of the Lord. The Lord is with the church. Where the church is, there also is the embassy of the kingdom of heaven on Earth” (Ephesians 5:25) (Daily Food, book 9, week 4, Tuesday, p. 60).
