- The apostle Peter new how crucial it was for the church to continue receiving the word coming from God. The prophetic word, the present truth, that the apostle spoke to the church caused the objective faith to have the necessary conditions to be received as the subjective faith in those that heard it and caused God’s will to be fulfilled (2 Pet 1:12).
- The prophetic word is capable of producing harmony and progress in the work of God. It is important for us to have the present truth with us and to be confirmed in it (2 Pet 1:19).
- While the apostle was alive, he strove for the saints to remember the present truth, which is the word that comes from God’s mouth and produces subjective faith, that places us under God’s command (2 Pet 1:13).
- “God desires to establish His kingdom through His life ruling over man. This is why He placed the tree of life in the midst of the garden (Gen. 2:9) so that man would receive Him as life. In this way, God would rule over man through life, and man would rule over the whole Earth through God’s life” (Daily Food, Book 2, Week 1, Friday, pg. 15).
