1. The blessing that God bestowed upon man when He created him was fertility: fruitfulness and multiplication. His intention was to govern the Earth through man. However, with the fall, sin and death entered the world. Thus, God lost both man and the Earth, and could not establish His rule on Earth through man (Genesis 1:28).
2. Man sinned because he disobeyed God’s word. After the fall, God needed to reclaim humanity and the Earth for Himself; therefore, Christ, man’s descendant, would bless all the families of the Earth (Romans 5:19).
3. God found in Abraham someone who cared about His will and, through Him, established the way for man to become fruitful and multiply again. In the lineage of Jacob, Judah became important so that the promise of the descendant, Christ, would be fulfilled and man would once again become fruitful for God (Genesis 12:7; Galatians 3:16).
4. “Every time the Lord appeared to Abraham, He spoke to him. This is a great secret that we must learn. Without the word of God, nothing happens in our lives. When God appears and speaks to us, His word changes our fortune. Therefore, when the Lord speaks, we must believe, just as Abraham believed, and things began to happen in his life” (Acts 7:2) (Daily Food, book 7, week 3, Monday, pp. 39 and 40).
